PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Afripanel delivered a new Thuthuzela Care Centre facility at Themba Hospital for the Department of Health. The project formed part of the replacement of older, ageing T.C.C. buildings with a newer and more modern building environment for the centre and its multidisciplinary teams.

PURPOSE OF THE BUILDING

The project replaced ageing infrastructure with a modern facility better suited to the operational requirements of the Thuthuzela Care Centre and the different people and professional teams who need to use the centre at the same time.

BUILD DESIGN AND LAYOUT

The building was designed to accommodate both victims and perpetrators simultaneously, with spacious areas for staff, prosecutors and members of S.A.P.S. The arrangement supports multiple functions within one facility and provides sufficient working space for the professional teams involved.
